Description
A delicious and easy recipe for Sticky Sesame Cauliflower, perfect for a flavorful side dish or a main course.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
- green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Start by washing your cauliflower and cutting it into bite-sized florets.
- In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with cornstarch, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the coated cauliflower to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and tender.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Once the cauliflower is golden and tender, pour the sauce over it, and stir gently to coat every piece evenly. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Transfer the cauliflower to a serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish. Enjoy while warm!
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
- Maple syrup can be used as a vegan alternative to honey.
- Adjust the amount of garlic and ginger according to your taste preference.
