Description
A simple and delicious recipe for an easy chocolate pie that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 piece pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (use high-quality for best flavor)
- 2 large eggs (or egg replacer for vegan option)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- a pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place your pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Gradually pour in the melted chocolate mixture, continuing to whisk until fully combined.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared crust, spreading it evenly.
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh fruits as desired.
Notes
- For a vegan option, use an egg replacer instead of eggs.
- Ensure to use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
- Let the pie cool completely for a firmer texture if desired.
